Boolean
The Boolean operations available from the Modify>Boolean pulldown and Advanced Modeling>Modify>Boolean palette submenus can be used to combine primitives to create new, more complex shapes. Boolean options are logical operators that define a new body by replacing the selected solids with the operator's logical result. Unite can be used to add two or more bodies together, Subtract to subtract one body from another, and Intersect to reduce two or more bodies to the region(s) common to all bodies.
The Prune and Graft functions are special Boolean operations that can be used to modify regions of faces on a solid body. Using Prune, you can cut or copy a region of faces into a separate solid body. The Graft function allows you to snap a tool body to another target body, move it to position, and paste a solid body.
