The Window feature is used to enlarge a portion of a part by surrounding it with a rubber band box. The boxed area you had selected is expanded so that it expands to fill the entire viewport.

Using the Function:

1. Select Window from the View>Zoom submenu.

2. Click and drag to select the zoom window.
