Use this feature to create a polyline entity with an indicated series of positions, stringing the vertices of the polyline to the selected shape. When creating string entities, it will be important to keep the following in mind:

• In 2D construction mode, the polyline is created and the vertices are projected to the current construction plane.

• In 3D construction mode, the polyline is created using the 3D coordinates of the indicated vertices.

Using the Function

1. Select String from the Create>Polyline submenu.

2. Indicate a start position for the polyline. As you move the cursor, a rubber band line connects from the last indicated position to the cursor.

3. Indicate additional positions for each vertex in the polyline.

4. Click Done on the Conversation Bar. The prompt asks if you want to close the polyline.

5. If you do not want to close the polyline, click No and ignore the remaining steps.

6. If you want to close the polyline (a straight line will be drawn automatically between the start point and the end point), click Yes. The prompt asks you if you want to fill the polyline.

7. If you do not want to fill the polyline, click Outline and ignore the remaining steps.

8. If you want to fill the polyline, click Filled. The Color dialog box appears.

9. Select the fill color and click OK. The color fills the polyline.
