Subgroups

Groups are divided into 255 "subdivisions" called subgroups.  When entities are grouped, they are placed within a subgroup.  Each subgroup is then given a sequential number from 1 to 255.

When working with Subgroups, it will be important to know the following:

  • No more than 255 subgroups can exist in a single group.

  • The Group>List*HIDS_GROUP_LIST function can be used to extract information about the number of subgroups under a specified group name.
