Moving Screen Elements

Toolbars, the History Bar, and the Conversation Bar are Windows control bars, and they can be docked (fixed to a side of the screen) or undocked (floating) as needed.

Undocking a Control Bar:
  1. Place the cursor in an inactive area of the control bar you would like to undock from its current position in the workspace.

  2. Hold down the left mouse button and move the mouse. The control bar will follow the cursor movements. If you release the button when the control bar is away from a side of the screen (left, right, top, or bottom), the Control bar becomes undocked and turns into a floating control bar. If you drag the control bar to a side of the screen, so that it overlaps an edge, the outline becomes narrow. This indicates that when you release the button, the window becomes docked and turns into a fixed control bar. Holding down the CTRL key will prevent it from docking.

Locking a Control Bar:

Control bars can be locked, effectively freezing them in their current workspace position. Locking prevents accidental movement.

  1. Select Lock Control Bars from the View Menu (this is a toggle switch).

  2. Once locked, you will not be able to undock or move any of the docked control bars.
