Follow the steps below to import a Pro/Engineer part file (*.PRT, *.PRT.*) or assembly file (*.ASM, *.ASM.*)

Importing a Pro/Engineer File:

  1. Select Pro/Engineer from the File>Import submenu. The Select a Pro/Engineer Part File or Assembly File to Import file dialog box appears. Through this dialog you are able to set import options and import a Pro/Engineer part file or assembly file.

  2. Click on the Options button. The Pro/Engineer Import Options dialog appears.

  3. Select the desired settings on this dialog and click OK.

  4. To import a file, browse for the specific file you intend to import, click on it (so that it appears under File name) and select Open.

  5.  Once objects are placed a DynaHandle appears for further edits of placement as well as conversation bar options (Copy for example). Once edits are complete choose OK to accept.
