Interactive healing allows you to select the healing phases and tolerances to be used in the healing process. Using this method, you are required to monitor the healing stages as they occur. As a result, the Interactive Healing method can take significantly longer to finish.

Interactive Healing Steps:

These steps vary based on the selections you make in the wizard.

  1. Select a method for Tolerant Edges from the Tolerant Edges dialog. Based on your previous selections you will be prompted to choose either a body or several face bodies to heal. If the healing was not successful and you’ve chosen to heal only particular faces, then the outline of these faces will appear in the Analysis Result on Healed Body dialog box.

  2. The next phase in the healing process is geometry simplification. Before geometry simplification takes place, the body is analyzed to calculate the recommended tolerance and to determine if simplification is necessary. The Geometry Simplification dialog box enables you to choose whether or not to perform the simplification process. If you choose to simplify the body the recommended tolerance field will be enabled. There is a checkbox that will allow you to simplify only planar faces. For example, you may not want to change a cylinder-shaped spline face into a cylinder so by enabling this checkbox you will avoid such an occurrence.

  3. The next phase in the healing process is stitching. Before stitching takes place, the body is analyzed to calculate the recommended minimum and maximum tolerance and to determine if stitching is necessary. The Geometry Stitching dialog box allows you to skip this process. If you choose to stitch the body you can change the minimum and maximum stitching tolerance to meet your needs.

  4. The final phase in the healing process is geometry building. Before geometry building takes place, the body is analyzed to calculate the recommended build tolerance and to determine if building is necessary. The Geometry Building dialog box enables you to change the recommended build tolerance to meet your needs. There are also two additional input fields: analytic tangency tolerance and isospline tolerance.

  5. When the healing is complete, a dialog box containing the final statistics of the healed body will be displayed. If the body is 100% healed, click the FINISH button to complete the process.

  6. If the healing was not successful and you chose to heal only particular faces, the Incomplete Heal dialog appears, and the outline of these faces will be highlighted. These will need to be modified to completely heal the part. If bad entities were found during the healing process, the ANALYZE BAD ENTITIES button will be enabled. When selected, this button will allow you to view the bad entities that were encountered. This option is disabled when a body is healed completely (note the ”r;100 % Healed”).
