File Types:

Unique information about your parts is stored in several files. Each file type has a specific purpose. This section describes each file type.

  • A design file(*.CKD) stores complete information about the part, including geometry, scale, current view, line types, and 2D/3D status.

  • A template file can be customized to store template specifications.

  • A CDE file is a Dynamic Extension. These are applications that you can run to increase functionality or access special features. CDEs can be created by you, your company, third-party developers, or can be installed with this product.

  • Opening, viewing and printing raster image files TIF, JPG, GIF, BMP and DIB is included to provide support for opening legacy and scanned raster drawings. BMP and DIB files open scaled to the correct size.

 

Naming Files:

NOTE: A file name can contain up to 255 characters, including spaces. It cannot contain any of the following characters: \ / : * ? " < > |
