STEP Export Options Dialog

KeyCreator / File / Export / STEP Export / STEP Export Options Dialog

The following settings are available from the STEP Export Options dialog. Click on the RESET button to restore all the settings in this dialog to their default configuration. When you have finished making your selections in the dialog box, click OK on the dialog. The second page of this dialog allows you to enter information to be included as header data in the STEP file.

STEP Export Format
  • AP 203- S elect this option if you want the selected entities to be saved in the AP203 standard

  • AP 214 - Select this option if you want the selected entities to be saved in the AP214 standard

  • AP242 - Select this option if you want the selected entities to be saved in the AP214 standard. Includes Assemblies, Solids/Sheet Bodies, Wires/Points, Colors, Layers and Shells.

NOTE: The STEP AP 203 format does not support attributes (e.g., color, line type, line width), so the exported file will not include this information.

Shape Representations and Conformance Classes
  • Advanced B-Rep (CC6) - Select this option if you want the selected entities to be saved as solids in the STEP file

  • Manifold Surface Models with Topology (CC4, Shell Based) - Select this option if you want the selected entities to be saved as surfaces (sheet bodies) in the STEP file

  • Geometrically Bounded Wireframe Models (CC2) - Select this option if you want the selected entities to be saved as free curves (wireframe entities) in the STEP file

Export Planes and Vectors as Burst Wireframe Geometry

When selected, planes and vectors are exported as burst wireframe geometry.

Indicate Exported Geometry Base Location

When selected, you are prompted to select the origin for the entities to be exported. When cleared, the default origin (0, 0, 0) is used.

Export Entities Relative to Active Construction Plane

When selected, the entities are transformed so they are relative to the active construction plane.

Set Default Face Colors to Parent Solid's Color 

When selected will transform all face colors to that of the solid owning the faces.

Header Information Tab

This tab is used to provide more information on the Step file created such as File Description, Author Name, Orginization and Authorization info.
