KeyCreator / Tools / Machinist / Rough / Contour
Use this strategy to create a toolpath from the inside out, expanding the toolpath as it goes. While the path is being created, the cutting tool will ramp down to the level to be machined. For each successive level, the cutting tool spirals down at a ramp angle that you define, along the contour of the next level to be machined. The pocket is emptied in a spiral-expanding mode (from inside out), while maintaining climb milling. When you select this function, the Contour Rough with Ramping dialog appears shown below, containing offset and tolerance settings among others. When you click OK on this dialog, a second dialog appears. The second dialog contains additional settings, explained below. When you click OK on the second dialog, the toolpath is created according to your specifications.
