KeyCreator Pro Modify Solid Face Offset

This local edit function is used to offset individual faces of a solid one at a time. Select one or more faces to offset. An increment menu will appear on the Conversation bar with an edit field. You can enter a total offset value, or use the increment settings to increment the offset by a user-specified amount. Positive offset values will shift faces away from the body, while negative offsets will shift the face into the original body.

Using the Function:
  1. Select Offset Faces from the Modify>Solid Face submenu.

  2. The Offset Faces of Solids dialog appears. To continue and use the incremental menu (below), select the Preview and Modify Faces Interactively setting and click OK. Or, work through the dialog.

  3. Select the planar face(s) to offset.

  4. Indicate an offset value. Values entered in the edit field reflect the total offset from the original position. These options only appear when Preview and Modify Faces Interactively is selected in the dialog.

  • + Incr - Allows you to increase the offset value by an increment (default 0.1).

  • - Incr - Allows you to reduce the offset value by an increment (default 0.1).

  • Set Incr - Allows you to set a new offset increment value.

  • Done - Select this button once you have finished altering the offset options.

Dialog Options:

When Offset Faces is selected, a dialog appears. You can disable the dialog and work interactively using the incremental options by selecting the Preview and Modify Faces Interactively setting. If you prefer to work through the dialog, leave the setting unchecked. The available settings are discussed below:
