This function applies an offset value to the base of an ordinate dimension. If an ordinate dimension has three points that measure 0.0, 1.5 and 3.0 and you apply an offset of 2.0, the dimension values will now read as 2.0, 3.5 and 5.0. The dimension does not move, the displayed values change by the offset value you specify. Keep in mind, that this has no effect on dimension associativity.

NOTE: This function cannot be used for baseline or running dimensions. It is only valid for use on ordinate dimensions.  

Using the Function:

1. Select Offset Origin from the Detail>Baseline Dimension submenu.

2. Select the dimension to modify.

3. Enter a value to use as the offset. The offset value is added to the dimension, increasing or decreasing the dimension value, depending upon the offset value you had specified.
