The functions available from the Create>Segment pull-down and palette submenus. Segment creates segments of equal lengths along existing geometry. The original geometry retains its attributes and exists as its own entity.

When using the Segment function, it will be important to keep the following in mind:

• You choose how many segments to make and what entity to use as a reference.

• Because new entities are created using all current attribute settings, modify attributes before selecting the reference entities.

• For easy manipulation, create entity segments on a different level.

• Using the Segment Spline feature, you can convert splines to lines and arcs.
