Effects of In-Context Editing

Attempted editing of referenced parts in-context will have various effects on elements, such as Model/Layout Mode, display trees, and geometry display. Such effects are discussed below.

Effects on Model/Layout Mode

Entering or exiting layout mode while editing a referenced part in-context will terminate the current in-context editing. While in layout mode, only part references that were created in that layout may be selected for in-context editing. Model mode references displayed through drawing instances will not be available for in-context editing.

Effects on Display Trees

When a part reference is activated, new versions of the trees in the frame of the displayed part, such as the level tree and part reference tree, will be added showing the appropriate tree for the active part. This will allow you to manipulate the tree of the part being edited.
