Spline

Spline

The features available from the Create>Spline drop-down and palette submenus allow you to create various spline types.

Start and End Condition Menu

The Start and End Condition Menu appears in the Conversation bar frequently throughout spline creation.

NURBS Through Positions

Use this feature to create a generic rational B-spline curve by through positions.

NURBS Control Positions

Use this feature to create a generic rational B-spline by inputting the vertices of a control polyline.

NURBS Helix

Use the NURBS Helix function to create a 3D spline that simulates a helix curve with an orientation that you define.

NURBS Spiral

This function allows you to create a constant 2D spiral-shaped curve.

NURBS from Polyline

The NURBS From Polyline function allows you to convert polyline entities into splines.

NURBS Blend Curve

The NURBS Blended function can be used to create a single segment spline that bridges the gap between any two curve entities.

NURBS Chain

Use the NURBS Chain to Spline function to convert a chain of curves into a single spline.

3D Curve Offset

Project to Surface

The projection of any curve onto a surface will result in a cubic spline entity; regardless of the entity type of the curve projected.

Surface/Surface Intersection

A list of items relating to the Surface/Surface Intersection help topic.

Body/Plane Intersection

This option will create curves at the intersection of the faces of a body and a plane entity created from the Create Plane functions.

Using the Body/Plane Intersection Function

To use this function, follow the steps below.

Curve/Curve Projection

This function finds the curve resulting from the intersection of two curves projected along specified directions.
