The Trim Divide function can be used to trim or extend any curve into two separate entities by removing a selected portion of the entity. The entity to trim, or divide, extends to the selected intersections and the portion of the entity you select is removed.

At least one of the trimming entities you select must intersect with the entity that you intend to divide.

Using the Function:

1. Select Divide from the Curve>Modify>Trim Ribbon area.

2. Select the entity to trim or divide.

3. Select the first trimming entity near the intersection, or projected intersection, with the entity that you want to divide.

4. Select the second trimming entity, near the intersection, or projected intersection, with the entity that you want to divide. You can select the same entity twice at different intersections. The entity is trimmed.
