KeyCreator Drafting Circle Tangent 2 Positions

Use this feature to create a circle that has a specified radius and is tangent to two selected entities. When creating circles of this type, keep the following in mind:

  • In 3D construction mode, a plane will be created from the selected entities. If both selected entities are lines, polylines, or vectors, then a plane will always be created without difficulty. This plane will be at the depth of the first entity selected if the entities are at different depths with respect to this plane.

  • If a plane can not be created, or if in 2D construction mode, the arc will be created using the active CPlane.

Using the Function:
  1. Select Two Tangents from the Curve>Circle>Tangent Ribbon area.

  2. Enter a radius value.

  3. Select the first tangent entity, near the point of tangency.

  4. Select the second tangent entity, near the point of tangency.

NOTE: You cannot select parallel lines with this option. Make sure the entities that you select are coplanar.
