The Both function can be used to break two intersecting entities based on their intersection relation.

Using the Function

1. Select Both from the Modify>Break submenu.

2. Select the segment of the entity that you want to retain its original attributes.

3. Select an intersecting entity on the side that you want to retain its original attributes and near the position where you want the break to occur. The new entity assumes the current attributes. Both entities are broken at their position of intersection.
