KeyCreator Pro Create Mesh 2 Curves

Use this feature to create a mesh defined by a selected generator curve and director curve. The mesh visually simulates a swept surface that is formed by moving, or sweeping, the generator curve along the director curve. The end positions of the generator and director curves do not need to intersect.

Using the Function:
  1. Select Mesh by 2 Curves from the Create>Mesh submenu.

  2. Choose the entity type for the mesh.

  3. If you chose Polygon, indicate whether to use a three- or four-sided polygon for the mesh.

  4. Choose a method for defining the sweep of the mesh's profile:

KeyCreator Pro Create Mesh 2 Curves options
  • Translate - Keeps the generator curve's orientation relative to the world coordinate frame as the generator curve is moved along the director curve.

  • Rotate - Keeps the generator curve's orientation relative to the director curve as the generator curve is moved along the director curve.

  1. Select a generator curve.

  2. Enter the number of segments for the generator curve.

  3. Select a director curve, near the end from which you want to start the sweep of the generator curve.

  4. Enter the number of segments for the director curve.

  5. Choose whether or not the curves are connected correctly.

  6. Choose whether or not to group the mesh.

  7. If you group the mesh, enter a group name and, if necessary, a subgroup number.
